CAA requires at least 48 hours of processing time for Jamaican charter permits during J.C.A.A regular office hours Mon – Fri 0900 – 1630 (1400-2130 UTC). They are closed on weekends and Jamaican public holidays; we recommend requesting the same as soon as a trip is confirmed.

OVERFLY PERMITS – not required.

As per Arlene Benjamin, Operations Officer, Air Service Licences & Permits, Economic Regulation Department of Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, Air operators from countries that are signatories to the International Air Services Transit Agreement, 1944, do not need permission to overfly the Jamaican airspace as they are guaranteed this right in accordance with Article 1, section 1 of the Agreement.

“Each contracting state grants to the other contracting state the following rights in respect of scheduled international services: The privilege to fly across its territory without landing.”
